KRG Whiskey-3 Chassis With Enclosed Forend (Rem 700 SA)
Kinetic Research Group’s Whiskey-3 chassis serves as that brand’s flagship chassis. Now it is in its seventh generation.
This lightweight, modular drop-in chassis feeds from AICS-pattern magazines with no special bottom metal. The Whiskey-3 uses its own–modeled after the famous Sako TRG rifle.
Enclosed Forend
This version of the Whiskey-3 comes fitted with KRG’s Enclosed Forend in place of the standard polymer forend. The Enclosed Forend wraps fully around the barrel and does the work of a forend, a spigot mount, and a night vision mount in one lightweight piece. It also offers both the standard KRG hole pattern and M-LOK slots for accessories.
And don’t worry because KRG cut away the section over the barrel where a rail would interfere with a scope anyway, so the objective can sit low and close to the bore line at a natural height without extra-tall rings.
This forend is also for those who like the feel of an AR-style tube forend; you’ll like that look and handling in a layout designed for a bolt-action rifle. Do keep in mind that barrel fit is tighter with the Enclosed Forend. A 1.250" straight contour will just fit, but KRG recommends a smaller contour, generally no larger than a Remington Varmint, for balance and usability.
The KRG Whiskey-3
With the KRG Whiskey-3, all you need to do is to lay your barreled action in, torque down the supplied action screws, and you’re ready for the range.
The Whiskey-3 is built around an aluminum backbone with a radius bedding surface machined directly into it for consistent contact with your round 700 action. A hardened stainless steel recoil lug is included. This chassis should also accept most oversized aftermarket lugs with little or no modification, and its barrel channel clears straight contours up to 1.25" in diameter. Fit adjustments are tool-less. The polymer material in the Whiskey-3’s forend stays comfortable to hold year round–both in the heat of summer and chill of winter.
For Gen 7, KRG redesigned the cheekpiece so it now adjusts laterally as well as fore and aft. Length of pull adjusts in 1/4" steps across roughly 13.3" to 15" and locks with a cam and thumbscrew. The folding version adds reversible hinges, so you can set it up to fold to the left or right side.
Magazines not included.

About Kinetic Research Group (KRG)
Kinetic Research Group was founded in 2010 by a group of former and active-duty Green Berets who shoot both in sporting and professional contexts. KRG’s product range consisting of precision rifle chassis, stocks, and accessories are meant for competitive shooters, hunters, service members, and law enforcement officers.
KRG also takes a practical approach to the design of its products. It includes the features a shooter actually needs, adds advanced features when they’re worth the weight and cost, and leaves out anything that doesn’t earn its keep.
