ALTUS Custom MDT DRT 22 Creedmoor
This build is for the predator hunter doesn't want to sacrifice weight for precision and compatibility. Every component was selected to keep weight down and support night vision or thermal optics.
Chassis: MDT DRT System, Short Action
The MDT DRT chassis is the center of this build. It was selected because it was purpose-built for predator hunters running clip-on thermal or night vision.
At 3.2 lbs with the buttstock, NV bridge, and carbon fiber grip included, the DRT uses a magnesium chassis body and buttstock to keep weight down for all-night carry. Titanium LOP pins, LOP clamp, and action screws save weight without giving up strength.
The included 13" aluminum NV bridge gives a clip-on thermal or night vision device a stable, dedicated mounting point in front of the scope. An integrated ARCA rail lets you mount straight to a tripod, a common setup for calling stands.
The folding buttstock brings the chassis down to 24.52", which makes the rifle easier to carry, stow in a truck, or pack in a case. Length of pull adjusts tool-free from 12" to 14.25" with the included thumbscrew, so you can adjust for layered winter clothing in the field. The cheek riser adjusts 1.15" in height to help you get a clean, consistent view through your optic and clip-on.
For accessories, the DRT includes an M-LOK thumbshelf on the right side and a 5" offset Picatinny rail for mounting an IR illuminator, light, or other gear. It also comes with grip tape panels, spacers, and a spare pair of folder stops. The chassis is available in FDE or Black.
Action: Impact 737R Short Action, 75-Degree Bolt
The Impact 737R was selected for its smooth, consistent bolt cycle and Remington 700 footprint compatibility. The 75-degree bolt lift gives extra clearance between the bolt handle and the scope, which keeps follow-up shots quick when a second coyote shows up.
Barrel: PROOF Research Carbon Fiber, 18" Sendero, 1:8" Twist
The PROOF carbon barrel keeps weight off the front of the rifle for easier carry. The 18" length keeps the rifle compact and suppressor-friendly while clearing the DRT forend and NV bridge. The 1:8" twist stabilizes the heavy, high-BC .224 bullets that make the 22 Creedmoor effective at distance.
Trigger: TriggerTech Diamond, Pro Curved
A clean, predictable break matters when a shot opportunity lasts only a moment. The TriggerTech Diamond delivers a crisp break with no perceptible creep, and the Pro Curved shoe gives consistent finger placement, even with cold hands.
Magazine: MDT Short Action Metal Magazine, 5 Round
The MDT metal magazine was selected for full compatibility with the DRT chassis, which doesn't accept MDT polymer magazines. It feeds reliably, and the binder plate helps keep it seated securely.
