The Viper Barrel Vise, constructed of 6061 aluminum, features a heavy duty bottom half that is 1” thick for added strength. The four hardened bolts have a support spring that keeps the top half from moving around during barrel insertion and removal. Each spring is fully captured on each end for stability.

Lot of vise for the money
This appears well made and thought out. Though, since I’m working with M24 & MTU contours I decided to purchase the heavier vise from brownell’s that uses aluminum inserts to match the profile of the barrel. I’m keeping this as a backup in case I’m working with a barrel that I don’t have the correct inserts for.

Really great at clamping barrels
Everything worked as advertised. I switched to the viper vise after breaking several homemade wood clamps, and it worked perfectly the first time, with no marks on my barrels. Highly recommended.
