The Zermatt Origin is an economically priced custom action that utilizes many features included in the Bighorn line of actions. This receiver is available in the following configurations:
- Short action only
- RIGHT or LEFT hand
- 223, 308, or Magnum bolt heads
- Swept bolt handle
- Remington style feed lips (compatible with AICS magazines and hinged floor plate designs)
- Tactical Bolt Knob
- Pinned 20 MOA rail
- 1 1/16" 20 TPI (Savage Small Shank Pattern)
The Bighorn Origin features the same footprint as the Remington Model 700 action and is compatible with most Remington 700 inlet stocks, chassis, and triggers. The Origin is threaded to the same spec as standard Savage small-shank threads allowing for Savage pre-fit barrels as well as the option of the classic shouldered barrel.
The Bighorn Origin comes standard Remington style feed lips for ADL/BDL (hinged floor plate) setups as well as all AICS pattern magazines to max COAL's of 2.980". All Origin actions are cut with the Bighorn trim tang which is most similar to Remington 700 actions. The Origin bolt handle is also swept to mimic the Remington 700 as well.

As advertised! I have several “Custom” actions and this budget friendly action runs with the best of them. I have ZERO complaints and will continue to purchase the Bighorn line.

Zermatt Origin SA
The flexibility of interchangeable bolt heads and availability of shouldered prefits make caliber changes a breeze. The action is well made and smooth. I currently have it built with the PPC bolt head into a 6 ARC Bolt Gun. Likely to get another action just to build into a 6 GT.
