2026 Altus Long Range Challenge Series

The Altus Long Range Challenge Series exists to grow precision rifle shooting by giving both new and experienced shooters a place to learn, improve, and truly master their craft. We believe the future of the sport depends on welcoming new shooters, giving them the right environment to develop skills, build confidence, and compete alongside experienced marksmen. Our goal is not just to host matches, but to create a series where learning, progression, and community are just as important as performance.

We’re excited to welcome both returning competitors and new shooters to the 2026 season. This year includes several updates designed to improve the match experience, support new shooters, and increase prize opportunities through our sponsors PROOF Research and CLOVIS Suppressors.

New for 2026

● Match winners will select their prize cert. Remaining certs will be drawn at random. Shooters may only win one cert per year to give everyone, especially new shooters, a fair chance.

● “New Shooter Squads” will be available for a shooter’s first three matches, including pairing with an experienced shooter and on-the-clock coaching.

● Friday train-up is open 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. Members shoot free; Non-Members pay $20 at the pro shop.

● On-site lodging is available Friday nights (pending military use). Email info@altusshooting.com to reserve. Lodging fee: $90 per person per night.

● The match series rifle returns for 2026. To be eligible for the series rifle raffle, shooters must complete two matches plus the finale.

● PRS sanctioned matches will follow the 2026 PRS rule book. Outlaw matches will generally follow PRS rules but may vary depending on MD’s COF.

About the Series

The Altus Long Range Challenge Series blends PRS and Outlaw-style stages, testing practical precision rifle skills across a 10-stage course of fire. Shooters will engage targets from 100–1000 yards, including steel, reactive, and moving targets. Stages may require shooters to understand their rifle/ammo system, make target selections, and manage time effectively.

The series is designed for all skill levels, and new shooters are highly encouraged to participate. Lunch from Pounders Hawaiian Grill is provided at every match.
